Result 2: Videogame

The Future is Ours is a graphic adventure based on an intersectional sexuality-gender perspective for guiding gender equality education, understood as a comprehensive education on emotional, health and social issues and it is addressed to teenagers between 12 and 15 years old. The game pretends to raise awareness of values applied to sex and affections, such as equality between genres and sex, mutual respect, mutual caring, self-consciousness, self- caring, consent, and sexual diversity.

• Welcome to this fantastic summer camp!

You will spend the next 3 days doing various activities, exploring the area and above all, learning about various LGBTQ+ issues during your stay.

• Activities

Enjoy the varied activities that the camp offers, such as a game of scavenger hunt, archery or the talks that take place every night around the campfire.

• Your adventure

Explore the different areas of the camp and take the opportunity to talk, interact and get to know your fellow campers better. How you respond in your interactions can influence the outcome of your experience.

• LGBTQ+ themes and more

The camp will bring up a wide variety of LGBTQ+ issues related to sexuality, gender, phobias and more that will lead you to learn about them in order to better relate to the camp.

26 Years. Riley has a vibrant and creative style, sporting a bob cut with bangs and often experimenting with vibrant colors in her hair. Her shorter, curvy figure reflects her lively and energetic personality. Riley enjoys altering her clothes with a touch of technology.

Morgan

Morgan is stereotypically feminine and beautiful, Caucasian, with brown eyes, medium height and lean but athletic build. She pays careful attention to her appearance, wearing trendy outfits with well-coordinated colors. She enjoys accessorizing with earrings, nail polish, and makeup, and takes pride in maintaining her hair with various hairstyles, including braids. Morgan is conscious about her figure, even though she already fits the stereotypical “ideal” beauty standards. 

Alex

Best friend with other main character, Jay. Likes sports, likes to watch basketball with his dad. He is interested in history in general and it’s his favorite subject in school. He is really creative, but also has some ADHD traits which are making studying harder for him. He likes travelling and makes short videos about his short trips on social media – he can always find something interesting even about a small village, so his videos are entertaining and popular. 

Jordan

They/Their/them. Likes anime, cats, is good with languages (learning Korean in their free time), is strong with reasoning and discussion skills, in the school they can articulate their point very good and build arguments efficiently. Does not know yet what they want to study at the university. Goes regularly for swimming classes, where short hair is also preferred.

R1. Early interventions in gender education: Guides for educators and families

The first result consists of two comprehensive guides for conducting interventions with kids and teenagers between 9 and 15 years old, in formal (educators) and informal (families) education environments.

Main contents of the guide are equality, sexual diversity, consensus and consent, self-caring, caring of others, love and emotions. The guide for educators aims to raise awareness about gender diversity issues in order to prevent sexual violence (sexual harassment, rape, non-consensual behaviours, etc.) among youth (9-15 years old), being the vast majority gender-based sexual violence and it also aims to avoid bullying and violence against gender diversity minorities. Thus, suppose a great added-value resource specifically adapted to the new challenges that are the changing reality of relationships and sex-gender interactions.

The guide for families is focused on providing them with information and materials in the field of prevention of gender and sexuality inadequate behaviours, and value-based sex education for kids and teenagers between 9 and 15 years old.

R2. Future R Us: Graphic Adventure Game

The second result is a graphic adventure based on an intersectional sexuality-gender perspective for guiding gender equality education, understood as a comprehensive education on emotional, health and social issues and it is addressed to teenagers between 12 and 15 years old. The game’s plot is based on the guidelines used and developed on the guides for educators and families to consolidate the outcomes reached by teachers and families.

Consequently, the game pretends to raise awareness of values applied to sex and affections, such as equality between genres and sex, mutual respect, mutual caring, self-consciousness, self- caring, consent, and sexual diversity. The videogame is available to be downloaded in STEAM digital store for PC platforms. The game can be played in the languages of the consortium partners, i.e. English, Spanish, Romanian, Czech and Estonian.
